The Brooklyn Museum’s 2021 Artists Ball was a virtual gala shared with guests through a 30-minute video livestream. The goal of the event design was to convey the institution’s commitment to social justice in 2020. Textured chalk marks (inspired by the museum's outdoor gatherings with sidewalk chalk), animated grain, and bitmap imagery bring a gritty realism to the otherwise stark museum brand. The animated chalk marks were drawn frame-by-frame in Procreate.
